Many of the people I work with come through personal referrals. That means someone who knows you, and knows me, trusted me with your name. I don’t take that lightly.
Everything you share with me — in a first conversation, in a session, over time — is confidential. That’s not just a legal requirement. It’s the foundation of the work. You can’t find yourself in a room where you don’t feel safe.
Your personal information is treated with the same care.
Here’s the technical detail of how I handle your data, as required by UK GDPR.

I am the data controller for any personal information you share with me.
Contact information — your name, email address and phone number, provided when you get in touch. I use this to respond to your enquiry and, if we work together, to schedule and communicate about sessions. The lawful basis is contract (we are in, or about to enter, a professional relationship).
Session notes — brief notes I keep for my own reference to support the continuity of our work. These are stored securely and never shared. The lawful basis is legitimate interests (supporting effective therapeutic practice) and, where health data is involved, Article 9(2)(h) of UK GDPR (health and social care purposes).
Nothing else. I don’t use cookies on this website. I don’t use analytics tools that track you. I don’t run mailing lists or marketing.
Everything you share with me is confidential. There are a small number of situations where I may be required or professionally obligated to share information without your consent:
I will always try to discuss this with you first where it is safe to do so.
Contact details and session notes are kept for seven years from the end of our work together, in line with professional guidance. After that period they are securely destroyed.
If you enquire but we don’t work together, I will delete your contact details within six months.
Nobody. I do not share your personal information with any third party, except where legally required as described above.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
